Bluff Creek Pattie proven a hoax:
The ”Bigfoot world” is abuzz with passionate debates as always, but the new revelation about the famous Patterson-Gimlin footage being a hoax, as revealed by the recently released documentary Capturing Bigfoot, shakes the beliefs in what many considered ”the best piece of evidence” ever collected.
In this documentary, Clint Patterson, the son of Roger Patterson, reveals that he saw his father burn the suit used for the Pattie footage. But the most shocking piece of evidence is a newly found roll of footage that had been kept locked in a safe, showing a rehearsal of the Pattie scene filmed one year earlier in 1966. ”Experts” who have sworn for its authenticity are confounded, as this newly released footage proves without a doubt that the Patterson-Gimlin footage was definitely a well prepared, rehearsed, orchestrated hoax.
This news may sound devastating for many believers who had become attached to the iconic images. However, a hoax does not disprove the existence of Sasquatch, though it certainly does not prove anything about it.
Many have vouched for the veracity of the footage based on their trust in Bob Gimlin, an argument often cited, although he said in a recorded interview that it could have been a hoax, but a very well done hoax if it was, yet most forget about all the fame and fortune the film brought him and a handful of others.
Yet, for anyone who has studied the Bluff creek case in detail, with all the background and circumstances, it was already clear that the story was inconsistent and for first hand experiencers, the footage seemed fake.
This was my take since years, as described at length in Encyclopedia of All Things Sasquatch published in 2019. I also exposed the story in an article last year, despite knowing that this would be much unpopular, but truth matters more than popularity and it should always have priority over the rest.

Will this new evidence settle for good the sixty year old debate about Pattie? Because if anything, that short minute of footage has sparked long heated arguments and divisions in the public at large. We are allowed to doubt the debate is closed, as it seems to throw more fuel on the fire, with those for whom beliefs matter more than the truth. Regardless, people are always free to believe whatever they want. We can just say we have informed them.
Blessings to all on your respective quests…
