The Footprint That Fooled Me, by Jeremy Buddle

The Footprint That Fooled Me, by Jeremy Buddle

On the third day of 2024 on a walking trail in the Ku- ring-gai National Park, thirty kilometres north of Sydney, I took a photo of a footprint on my smartphone. This left footprint in the sand at the side of the rocky track, that at best, was from a young Yowri (Yowie). I have seen many Yowri footprints of varying sizes and types. I am used to the interactions of Yowris, particularly the young as it has been since 2017: a diagram scratched into sand, sticks placed as a symbol or even a stick tossed in front of me to get my attention; because I was on my phone. And I write modestly at this point that in late 2023 I was honoured the Eldest Elder of the many Clans and their forest lands said to me, ‘You are a part of the family.’

I sent the photo to a friend, Marty, who is very knowledgeable of the Yowri. His message came a day later: Hey Jeremy, it really is an interesting footprint the toe splayed… maybe running… Days later, we spoke about the photo and his response was not what I expected; he did not consider it coming from a Yowri as his intuition hinted it was more likely another cryptid being. But doubt remained from both of us.

What I did like was the freshness of the footprint, and that meant, perhaps a Yowri was in the area, and it had been close to me. I had been on that part of the track only moments before and was not made aware of it nor did I see it. On my return from a vortex site once used by the Aboriginal women and girls I was made aware of the footprint. Often, markers that had been placed by a Yowri would use a frequency of the Yowris energy to call me over to raise my awareness.

Unable to really have a meaning but a desire to find one I looked at the footprint as being human, from a big shoeless foot. With no discernible heal this person was running, with the splayed toes. But how silly that really was, my intuition was telling me it does not work then remembering there was only one of the same type of footprint. I did search the surrounding sandy part of the track without finding others.

You may have wondered why only one footprint was visible. If the Yowri are bipedal why isn’t there at least one more footprint. Well, simply because they can. This is quite consistent with the Yowris in this area. I have many photos to prove this. They are quite generous in allowing me to learn and it is done at the awareness level where I am at, at that moment. So, finding one footprint does not mean this Yowri stood on one foot. Their energy field works with the frequency of light, the higher the frequency humans cannot see them. And therefore, they lower the frequency of light to place the foot onto the soft surface.

For months all I could do with the photo was leave it filed in a folder with photos that had a meaning, like the footprint left by the Eldest Elder that was 45.5 cm long and 24 cm at its widest point. My intuitive ability read this footprint as male linking me to the energy of a kind and gentle person of a senior age I had felt near me moments before. Why was the other footprint not as clear as this one?

In mid-March, I organized several photos onto a tablet to present at a Kinesiology appointment, the healer, Tayo, is a very efficient intuitive reader. It is a part of the journey of healing to find meaning and direction. And it was the last one I squeezed into the time running out for energy healing. I showed her the photo.
‘I did think it was a Yowri but that doesn’t rest well with me,’ I said.
Tayo counted the toes.
‘I think there’s five,’ I said.
‘No, there’s 6 in there, I feel there’s six in there,’ Tayo said.
Tayo counted again.
‘I don’t think it’s anything to do with a living creature, a 3D creature,’ Tayo said. ‘It’s not like animals. It’s not Yowie… Yowies used to organize some sort of animals or pet animals or spiritual animals to work with Yowie… And they used to keep as to protect that, like people have a dog to create security like protecting an area.’
‘It’s related to, have you heard of the Bunyip or the Marsupial Lion?’ I asked.
‘Marsupial Lion, yeah, yeah Marsupial Lion. But it’s not a 3D living creation.’
‘No, no, so, it’s like a dimensional being?’
‘It’s for protection… they have protection animals. It’s like a spiritual animal to protect the land, it’s like a symbol (the footprint), it’s left like this… it’s like boundaries. This is the Yowies place, not your place.’

Later, and on the same walking trail I couldn’t stop thinking about the meaning of Tayo’s words: this is the Yowies place, not your place. Did a Yowri allow the footprint for me to learn about another level of respect? Unknown to me my thoughts were messages sent out and received by the Yowris. To my left a young male Yowri made me aware of him and he said, ‘It’s all shared.’

If it was from a Marsupial Lion, why did it resemble a footprint? I listened to Tayo, but I still had doubts.

I remember reading on SCENIC Sasquatch, A Cryptid well alive: the Marsupial Lion or Bunyip, by Sunbow. I went back to it and read wanting to find a connection from his experience observing one in New South Wales. Some things stood out, particularly how a Yowri was behind Sunbow as he witnessed a Marsupial Lion move around. I felt a connection with the Yowri and the Marsupial Lion.

I contacted Sunbow asking for a description of a footprint, that is, if he had seen one. He had and he wrote back: It’s a large roundish footprint at least six inches across, with visible fingers and big claw marks, vaguely resembling that of a big feline such as a cougar. I’d be interested to see a photo of the track you found.

I emailed my photo to Sunbow, however, the doubt about what created the footprint remained. There were no claw marks in the sand in my photo.

Maybe I had been too close to the Yowris and their interactions to dispel the footprint as anything else but from them. Maybe I was not prepared for the idea of a Marsupial Lion being in the local bushland forest only kilometres from where I live.

Sunbow compared my photo with his and he replied: The photo looks very much like the tracks I saw.

I put the photo through enhancing software and treated it by using a negative effect. It seemingly reversed the footprint allowing the underside to be revealed. The shape, the impression of the toes and the padding. It felt like it was from a lion. It was a paw print.

And a month later, on the same walking trail I felt a gentle and fulsome presence behind me as I walked. I stopped. And instead of turning around I imagined I was looking through the back of my head, a technique I have allowed energy beings before to connect to my energy field, in other words, I saw in a vision a dark brown being walking on four legs. It was slowly following me.

This vision engulfed me as though I was with this being. I didn’t know by label what I was looking at, but it showed me it was now in front of me. It waited for me to size it up, noting it was aware of my disbelief toward it. But being curious got me through the disbelief and I found its head was close to the ground, the supremely muscled, rounded torso was behind and around the head. It had an unusual rounded, pointed face I had not seen before.

No animal on this trail has the same face shape: wallaby, possum, bandicoot, or even a pet dog. I knew it was male and I saw he was younger not young. He was showing me. I saw no markings simply the same shade of deep brown.

His eyes were on me. I perceived no threat and now curious was this a Marsupial Lion. I never believed this being existed in this area. I needed more. He moved his head around as if to make it easier for me to learn. Its mouth was closed, and I made out where the main top tooth was behind the skin. It seemed to fit, the middle protrusion was the large main upper and lower teeth.

It briefly gestured with a movement of a front paw; it stuck the left one forward repeatedly patting the ground.

The vision disappeared and the resistance to face this being was brief. I moved around and about 15 metres ahead of me I saw the outline of this clear energy being, its weight given to me in a sense of mass. Solid. At its highest point, it stood about 70 cm and its length was much longer. And harder to calculate.

And like it was a normal experience I thanked it and kept walking. Metres away, I gazed back to see if it was following. It had gone.

The vision lasted for as long as this being waited for me to get its message. He was connecting to me and showing me, he had left the paw print. That was very clear to me. And now from one paw print came the undeniable origin, Marsupial Lion.
