Suburban Sasquatch: the Mascouche cases, by SunBôw:
Although Sasquatch is the guardian of the wilderness, we sometimes hear reports of sightings or signs of activity being observed in suburban neighborhoods. If an isolated case, it could be a random occurrence, but at times there seems to be clusters or concentrations of reports in an area.
One such location of predilection seems to be around Mascouche, Quebec, a small suburban town north of Montreal, made of residential neighborhoods, farmlands and a few small patches of woods with parks and hiking trails.
Although we would not expect to find Sasquatch in a similar rather populated environment, barely half an hour from the city, the town surprisingly has had a list of sightings reported since the 1980’s, which always make but only a mere fraction of all encounters, since most witnesses do not dare or care to report their sightings. It is rather rare for Quebec, where the Sasquatch is direly underdocumented and little heard of, raising very little interest.

One reason why I’m particularly interested with the Mascouche cases is that five years ago almost to the day, my son and I had a clear sighting and close encounter in those same woods, just before I left for Australia. That was enough of a sign in itself to pay attention and raise my interest. (As a side note, my son and his girlfriend, who both had Sasquatch encounters before, had a clear daytime sighting a couple weeks ago in their region, about one hour west of Mascouche, which is the location discussed in this post.)
Then last August, a friend introduced me to her aunt who had just seen a Sasquatch drawing I had done and recognized exactly what she had observed herself near Mascouche in the early 1980’s. She described how tall it was and how fast and swiftly it moved, like gliding through the trees, as Sasquatch do. She remembered that another witness account had been published in the local newspaper the following week, confirming for her what she had seen.
Then last week, while browsing randomly on Kerry Clausen Kilmury’s Canada Sasquatch Map, I found another report from Mascouche from 1986, stated as below on Bigfoot case files:

”Mascouche Quebec 1986 Hi I want to tell my sasqatch encounter because it need to be told as it demystify something about them. In the summer of 86 i went out on a threeweeler in the woods of mascouche quebec with a friend. It was early afternoon, we went into forest trails for a short while and ended up under a pylone corridor that cross the area. We went from pylone to pylone until we encounter a sand patch that made the whole corridor.from a distance i notice foot tracks ending in the middle of the patch. The serpentine marks led me to believe it was human. we had to invertigate it due to the tracks endind in the middle of nowhere. There was no place for jumping, nothing to to jump to or from. The closest trees were 100′ away at least. There was only the waves made by the wind in the sand and the tracks. When we got to the end of the tracks ,we were baffled. Tracks were not ending ,they were beginning in the middle of the patch. Tracks were perfectly human looking, with an arch, five toes. Big toe was a bit out. This could not be humans. i reference with my hands to have a scale of it size. It had the width of my two hands together side by side and two and one half in lenght. That makes it 8″ by 17″.the first foot print was as if it had just walk in as if teleported, as if this thing had materialised right there, just walk in from somewhere else. there was no landing track, just one step in front of the other begining in the middle of the sandpatch. Tracks seems to be fresh as the wind had not begun to fill them. We talked big foot for few minutes and decide to call it for fun thinking it could respond. I tried a big deep “wooogyyyyy sound. Almost instantly we heared a roar of unbelievable strenght coming the wood near by, from we just had come out of.
I remember beginning to feel a strange vibe that changed into fear ,a terrifying fear like i never had before. I was 26 at the time, out of the canadian navy for few years.
I dont scare easy, i’ve been in difficult situations, some life threatening, fights and guns under my noze and i always kept my cool. never in my life i’ve been that scared. Frankly, today at 58, i still thing that level of fear was induced by the bigfoot by some sonic elf or psychic abilities that i dont know of. We left in a hurry never to go back.
I wanted to go back for a cast but out of fear we didnt.”
Then today, I randomly watched the latest video of Bigfoot Quebec which coincidentally happens to be precisely about Mascouche, yet mentions other cases. Here are a few screenshots from the video. That first case dated from 1983 is obviously the same as the last one quoted above. The discrepancy about the dates could depend on various factors, like memory gaps or misquoting, but the story is essentially the same, just shortened.

There is another case from 1988 with two brothers witnesses, and another one with a couple quoted in this video. Exact details seem to have been lost, mixed up or not clearly stated in reports.

This is the video with those old newspaper reports:
Anyways, just connecting the dots, as it seems there are many more than we think when we dig a little. The Mascouche cases show that Sasquatch can be seen even close to suburban or populated areas, by witnesses who had no clue of what they encountered and no prior knowledge of them. Such cases might be related to portals or sacred sites they protect, which could explain their presence near human settlements, if not in permanence, possibly on a regular basis or as a recurrent phenomenon. Happy research everyone!…
