Supernatural Crow Magic

Our readers might remember a series of three posts from last year (part one, part two, part three) about my interspecies communication with Crows. Here are the latest updates and outcomes of two years of friendship with Crows.

Supernatural Crow Magic… Disclaimer: If you find my stories too far off the chart, don’t bother reading this account of my latest surprise this morning.

Well, since I’m preparing to move to a new home soon, I’ve been thinking lately that what I’ll miss the most from this place will be the friendship I’ve been developing with the local tribe of Crows in two years of communication on an almost daily basis. It has been an amazing journey of fascinating learning and discoveries, beyond everything I had known so far about Crows, not only about how smart they are, but also how psychically and telepathically evolved they can prove to be, as they have kept impressing me with magic tricks and unbelievable synchronicities, in several anecdotes I have shared, but many more I have kept for myself. Their Elder even visited me in dreams in which our souls bonded in profound mutual respect and friendship. We have taught each other and developed codes we can all understand, too complex to detail.

For instance, when Crows caw, it is not only a sound signal but also a visual message, as they move their head forward with each caw. Since I’ve been careful not to freak out the neighbors by cawing out loud in the middle of the village, they taught me that when I just nod back at their caws, it makes them cheerful and we right away engage into into a quick back and forth conversation.

I noticed from the beginning that the Elder male is the first one to call out in early morning, like a rooster crows, followed by the Elder female in the same nest, and then the rest of the extended family joins from surrounding trees in a choir of caws that turns into a lively and animated chat that can last quite a while. I feel so honored that since our early contacts, they have included me in their morning family reunion, calling me either from the big tree facing my window, the feeding area in the backyard or at times, on the roof just over my bed. To avoid being taken for a cuckoo, I have used clucking sounds, which they soon learned to reproduce when addressing me. This inspired me to say ”Allo” when they come and peck on the roof over my bedroom, and sure enough, they eventually surprised me by saying ”Allo” when they check me out at the Crow hours. But this morning, they literally blew my mind.

As described in previous posts, they soon took the habit to flip the dish upside down when they’re done emptying it, to signify it’s ready for a refill. They dropped me a few trinkets, seen lined up by the window in this video, but mostly at the beginning, after which friendship was firmly established and the gifts of shiny or colorful tokens were not as significant or eloquent as our daily chats. I have gradually given them a series of puzzles to test their intelligence, at first with stones, then with mirrors, plates and bowls, covers and such, and they brilliantly succeeded in solving every challenge with ease, to the point where I ran out of tricks and imagination.

From the start, some readers suggested that these extraordinarily smart Crows might have had some supernatural help from our forest friends, when for instance they placed the stones on the porch in a squarish shape, or they were using the gems like chess pieces to make smart moves reflecting our latest interactions, and I admit I never ruled out this possibility. However, this morning I had a proof that there was more about these Crows than meets the eye.

To avoid repetitions for those who read the previous episodes, here is the latest update. Since the beginning, I have tried not to feed them daily, to avoid creating a dependency and allow them to keep their wildness and autonomy. So, I feed them sporadically, every now and then, especially in colder or rainy weather, less often in summer when they find plenty of worms and bugs, which at times they obviously prefer to certain snacks I give them. However, they still enjoy a change of menu and when I go for too long without serving them, they come to remind me of my part of our deal.

Since we’re still having nice weather and I’ll be moving soon, I have been cutting down lately on rations and servings, as they will have to make it without me this winter, while increasing the time of our conversations, to let them know I still Love them. The last few days, they have kept flipping the dishes upside down and moving them around, hoping for a refill that didn’t come, making them wonder what is going on. Now, autumn just arrived, with a cooler wind.

So this morning, they circled around me calling out and flipping the bowl repeatedly, then pecking at the upside down bowl like a drum to get my attention. The Elder came on the roof over my bed and first called me with clucking sounds, then with ”Allo, Allo”, with his typical tiny muffled Crow voice. The ”L” sound is hard from them to pronounce and requires a special attention and effort, so they often skip it and they can’t repeat it twice too fast. Yet, this time, it was with a perfect diction that he greeted me. So, as usually, I answered back ”Allo”, as sometimes we repeat it a few times back and forth.

But what followed was absolutely flabbergasting and I reckon, somewhat supernatural. I clearly heard the Crow Elder tell me with his unmistakable voice ”Je t’aime” (I Love you)! I froze and melted at once, then jumped out of bed and looked out the window, thinking someone was playing a trick on me. But nope! No one was out there but the Crows. Then, I remembered that I told them those words once or twice several months ago, when they started saying ”Allo”, never thinking that this wise winged friend would remember them and say them back to me months later. It left me speechless, deeply moved and amazed at their remarkable intelligence. Thus, I checked what I had to offer them as a sign of gratitude and though I had never fed them fish sticks before, it did the trick as expected.

So, although they move around and have found and greeted me a couple times in the woods a few kilometers from home as the Crow flies, I will shortly lose these lovely neighbors, unless they can trace and find me at 20 minutes down the road. Hence, this might be my last post to honor this fantastic family of relatives and thank them for this profound connection, spiritual friendship and mutual teaching that we have shared together in this place by their nests, where they have lived since before I arrived and will stay after I’m gone. Guidance told me I had to write this experience somewhere, whether only to archive it, or to share with those who can find interest in this anecdote. Thanks for reading. Blessings to all…

  1. Hey Crow Brother!

div>Awesome story of your Crow friends. I have a family calling to me daily and I feed birds but the crows don’t come close to the feeder. I have a few barn cats around which might keep the Crows

  2. Dear SunBôw,

Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences.

Synchronistically (sacred-nistically), it was only yesterday that I enjoyed my first personal experience with a crow. What most interested me about this encounter was the crow’s caw and the way she appeared to squat, bowing as if in greeting.

I’ve been meditating for some years now, so maybe I was simply “present” enough to interpret her cawl 🙂 as an invitation to friendship.

As I watched our friend above, I approached slowly, making sure to send messages of friendship. She continued to call. Suddenly, I became aware of the distance between us, somehow intuiting that proximity would be an important part of our interaction. Drawing ever closer to her perch, she flew finally to a nearby tree.

But I could feel that moment; that feeling when you’re able to identify the boundaries of another person’s personal space.

Well, after I walked inside and sat down, I heard the same caw….maybe ten minutes later. It’s unusual for crows to perch around here because our local hummingbirds don’t like it, and for all I know hummingbirds run the whole neighborhood. But when I got up and looked, I saw no crow.

In the end I just figured she was doing what any new friend would do – extending her greeting. This is kind of cool because the ball is now in my court. If I choose friendship, all I have to do is go back out and say “hi.”.

So just now I’m thinking I’m going to return to that same spot outside, plant myself and send out a telepathic message, a friendly greeting of good intent. If she responds I’ll write more later.

SunBôw, you put a huge amount of energy into helping All Things, and I want you to know that I continue to learn from you.

    Best Blessings, brother!

    Brian

    1. Greetings Brian, thanks for sharing your insights and experience in interspecies communication with the Crow. Indeed, the bowing as a greeting is one of the first thing they taught me, a language they understand well. It takes patience to make friends and build mutual trust, it’s a gradual process to let them get used to us while learning both ways to communicate.

They don’t like being stared at, especially when they eat, and this behavior also applies in their social interactions among themselves. They are much more relaxed if instead of pointing our eyes directly at them, when just look next to them or in periphery. Once hey know someone, they will never forget their face. As an animal and interspecies communicator, Crows have taught me a lot and showed that they are among the most skilled at this art. Best blessings on your next contacts…

  3. This summer I got a t-shirt saying ”I Love Crows”, with two crows and a heart on it. I’ve noticed that they really like when I have this t-shirt on, like if it makes them laugh. I’m the John Crow in this village, but clearly not a scarecrow haha… 😂

  4. I had no idea Crows were so interactive and intelligent. I think most of us think they are noisy pests. How heartwarming to hear them say they love you. It’s amazing they remembered those words and knew what they meant. That would blow my mind too.

When I shared that I had an Eurasian Eagle Owl in my tree for a whole day and into the night, it was accompanied by a mob of very loud crows. I thought they were trying to hurt the owl, but since learned that is not possible. They enjoy annoying owls apparently. After watching your videos and reading your stories, I have lots of respect for these birds. Thank you for sharing this info, it was a great read.

    1. Yes, corvids and especially crows are known to chase prey birds out of their territory, more by gang stalking than by fight. It usually works and for many hawks and owls, crows can also be seen as pests. But they do their job admirably and sure deserve all our respect…

  5. WOW! Update: More incredible amazement and awe! Yesterday after posting this, it was suggested to me to inform telepathically my local Crow clan about the place where I’m moving and how to get there. So I sent mental images of where will be my new home and the map to get there.

This morning, I went back there again to visit my friends, where the nicest surprise awaited me. As soon as I got out of the car, a choir of happy caws welcomed me and I recognize my flock of Crows circling above. I have no idea if they followed me, as they normally don’t do, or if they picked the telepathic message and found the place on their own. But again, this is on the edge of the supernatural realm.

After a couple of minutes letting me know they had found me 20 km down the road, the flock moved on to their daily occupations. My friends say they rarely see Crows in their neck of the woods, but rather big Ravens, and these big birds also greet me each time I go there.

Now, that was another mind blowing surprise, since just yesterday I posted and discussed about this, thinking they would lose track of me. What are the odds? Thanks to all of you who encouraged me in keeping hope and faith, and who suggested to invite them telepathically. The results are astounding.

I’m grateful for this extraordinary connection and powerful signs beyond probabilities. Telepathy definitely works wonders, as proven again. Those who don’t believe in it are the ones missing out.

Thanks and blessings to all our relations…
