Sunray 37th Native Elders Gathering, insights by SunBôw:
Wado! Miigwetch! Niawen! Gratitude for the invitation and welcoming at the Sunray 37th Elders Gathering this weekend. A wonderful, inspiring and uplifting blessing to meet (virtually) this Venerable Elder and great soul, and all the Elders she gathered.
Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo, is the Founder and Spiritual Director of Sunray Meditation Society. She is unique as a teacher, carrying three intact streams of ancient spiritual Wisdom. She is the 27th generation lineage holder of the Ywahoo lineage in the Tsalagi/ Cherokee tradition, as well as being a recognized teacher of the Vajrayana path in the Drikung Kagyu and Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism. She is the Chief of the Green Mountain Band of the Ani Yun Wi Wa and Spiritual Director of Sunray Meditation Society, Sunray Peace Village and Vajra Dakini Nunnery.
She began publicly offering teachings in 1968 at South Hampton University in New York. In 1976, Venerable founded Sunray Meditation Society, a vehicle for these teachings. In 1978, she moved to Vermont, continued to give teachings and founded the Sunray Peace Village in 1986 as a land based sanctuary for teaching, meditation, healing, and keeping the ceremonial cycles.
She is the author of Voices of Our Ancestors, Learning Cherokee ways: The Ywahoo Path, and 108 Quotations: A Treasury of Mystical Wisdom. She has also contributed to many books over the years and has written various curriculums that have been utilized for peacemaking around the world.
Every year, She hosts an Elders Gathering the last weekend in July at the Peace Village where Native Elders and teachers from many traditions share their wisdom.
This year’s gathering was recorded and links to videos will be made available soon. Unfortunately, I was notified that the sound quality of my presentations was poor and it is hard to hear my words, although we had done sound check with the technical team and the people I talked with seemed to hear me well. In spite of this glitch, I will share the links when made available.
Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo is also closely connected to the Sasquatch and the Little People. I quoted her in my Encyclopedia of All Things Sasquatch. She added her own insights and related some of her experiences during my main presentation. The healing ceremonies were powerful and uplifting, inspiring renewed clear visions and guidance for the next steps on the sacred way.
